Gathering in Maidenhead for product vision sign off

We just concluded a product vision and road map sign off meeting in Maidenhead, UK. People flew in from Seattle, Sydney, Amsterdam and I had actually come from Singapore (although based in Seattle). This may seem like a lot of investment of time and money for a one-day meeting, but this was absolutely necessary for our global team.

While virtual meetings are very helpful when people are spread throughout the world, there are times when people need to be physically together to get through critical issues. We are excited about the new releases coming up at SDL Social Intelligence. However, there were still many details to work out.

These meetings can be confrontational, frustrating given the different perspectives represented. If done correctly, however, the alignment and clarity from the intense session should lead to better execution. That’s what we achieved, I believe.
