I came to La Rochelle for some reprieve from my normal life…. to think… and to eat the seafood. I was told by my French friends in Seattle that the oysters in this region of France were the best in Europe.

Well, I’m from Seattle, where we are very proud of our Pacific Ocean oysters (Baywater Sweets, Treasure Cove, among others). But I have to say, I’ve been impressed. La Rochelle and the surrounding coast lines are a must visit for those wanting to experience excellent fruits de mer!
